Professional Experience

Barry Lipsius has extensive experience as a professional executive sales, marketing and management consultant.

Mr. Lipsius began his business career as a sales representative for the IBM Corporation in New York City. He won performance recognition awards consulting on newly manufactured computer systems and assisted in developing and successfully selling industry specific applications for certain “aging” IBM hardware.

At ITEL Corporation, a San Francisco based financial services company, Mr. Lipsius was responsible for developing business markets for the company’s equipment leasing services and OEM products. As the company’s Outstanding Salesman in his first year, he was promoted to New York Branch Manager where he hired, trained and managed its sales personnel. Subsequently, he managed the company’s offices in Montreal and Toronto.

American Financial Corporation formed a new leasing subsidiary and Mr. Lipsius became its Senior Vice President. He analyzed, designed, marketed, and arranged complex multi-million dollar tax-oriented lease, structured finance, and vendor operating lease finance programs for major corporations.

When new tax regulations and hyped residual assumptions impacted the leasing industry’s growth, Mr. Lipsius joined Atwood Richards, Inc., a worldwide corporate barter firm headquartered in New York City. As Senior Vice President and Director of Special Projects, Mr. Lipsius negotiated with Fortune 500 and other companies for the acquisition of their surplus consumer and industrial product inventories – via barter. In addition to inventories and services, these transactions sometimes involved real estate, corporate aircraft, and other under-performing corporate assets.
