Successful Business Transactions: Avoiding a Lemon Through Multi-Disciplinary Due Diligence
August 5, 2004
Long Island, NY
Fortress Global Investigations, Nixon Peabody LLP and Deloitte & Touche LLP hosted and sponsored this summer evening cocktail reception and interactive panel discussion on the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach to due diligence in business transactions. The panel was held on Thursday, August 5th from 6:00 through 8:30 PM at the Fox Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Whether negotiating the acquisition of a business, preparing to sell your company or taking it public, considering a financing, or entering into a joint venture arrangement, understanding the due diligence process is critical to the success of any significant business transaction. Our panel featured a mix of legal, accounting and investigative professionals who covered the assembly, coordination and utilization of the due diligence "team."
Members of the distinguished panel included: Ms. Deon Retemeyer, Senior Attorney, NEC USA, Inc.; Mr. Allan H. Cohen, Partner, Nixon Peabody LLP; Mr. Kenneth Kirschner, Partner, M & A Practice, Deloitte & Touche LLP; and Mr. Robert W. Seiden, President, Fortress Global Investigations.
