Professional Experience

Mark Bunim is an authority on insurance and risk management. Mr. Bunim served for three years as partner and co-leader of the insurance and risk management group at the New York office for Bryan Cave, a leading global law firm. Prior to that, for six years he was a partner in charge of the insurance practice at Robinson, Silverman, Pearce, Aronsohn & Berman, that merged into Bryan Cave. He also has litigated insurance coverage and claims matters and negotiated policies with insurance companies on behalf of clients, providing them with coverage and policy language advice.

Previously, he was Special Assistant Attorney General of New York State. During his career as an attorney, he has represented law firms, accounting firms, corporate directors and officers, real estate enterprises, owners, brokers and managers, financial institutions, government entities, school districts and insurance brokers in litigation and arbitration. Mr. Bunim has lectured to the New York State Insurance Association, American Corporation Counsel Association, North Fork Bank, National Association of REITs Convention and the RIMS International Convention, on risk management issues. Mr. Bunim has written on insurance related litigation.

Mr. Bunim is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court where he serves on the Supreme Court Historical Society, and to all the Courts in New York. He has been involved in numerous trials and appeals, in the Federal District Courts and United States Courts of Appeals and in the New York Courts, including the Court of Appeals, and in mediations and arbitrations. Mr. Bunim also handles partnership disputes and dissolutions. He is a Certified Mediator (CPR Center for Dispute Resolution) and director of Case Closure LLC, a mediation company.
