Our investigators are also experienced with bidding practices, labor and material misuse, inflated costs and organized crime influences on public and private real estate projects. When these activities are uncovered, private firms and government agencies involved in the project face a jeopardized reputation, but more importantly it is difficult to recover their exploited finances.

A recent investigative case involved a wealthy individual who had hired a contractor to build a house. After completion, the contractor sued the homeowner for more than $ 1 million dollars, alleging that the scope of the project had increased by this amount. The wealthy homeowner refused to pay the amount but was concerned his business associates would question his integrity for his refusal to pay.

Fortress Global investigated the contractor's allegations. Gross overbilling was discovered upon review of the contractor's books and records. In addition charges were found which were prohibited under the General Contracting Agreement. Our investigation resulted in a dismissed law suit which saved the client's reputation.
