Last year, a national law firm involved in a long-running asbestos liability case in federal court needed to interview an ex-employee who was going to be a witness. However, the firm's own in-house search was unable to locate the witness. Fortress Global Investigations was hired to find the witness and disprove the charge against the firm. Our investigators mapped out a strategy where they searched names of all past employees of the firm, and narrowed the names down to only those who were working at the time of the alleged incident. The investigative team soon tracked down the proper witness and started the interview process. Our investigator was able to establish an excellent rapport with the witness, and within a few hours our investigator was able to secure a signed statement from the witness refuting the allegations against the firm.

Fortress Global Investigations was also called to conduct interviews during a scandal involving employees at a jewelry wholesaler who relied on the business of a few major clients. The distributor was talking to a major internet retailer who was interested in buying jewelry at a significant discount. Owners of the distribution company had their employees sign an agreement prohibiting them from talking about or telling anyone about the negotiations. A leak would jeopardize business with the wholesaler's original clients since the wholesaler would be providing the internet retailer with the same items sold at a greatly reduced price. A short time after, the owners of the jewelry company began receiving phone calls from their clients regarding a copy of an invoice that the wholesaler sent to the internet merchant. The wholesaler contacted Fortress Global Investigations to perform an investigation to determine who sent the invoices. Fortress Global Investigations conducted over fifteen interviews with employees. After gaining information on each employee, our investigative team narrowed down the subjects and then used behavioral science experts, polygraph techniques, and fingerprinting to determine the culprit.
